Tachograph offences

You should seek advice at the earliest opportunity as some tachograph offences can carry a prison sentence.

There are now tough penalties for failing to comply with an officer’s request for production of records or for obstructing an officer.

New offences have been introduced that reflect the introduction of digital tachographs and include offences of using more than one card and using the wrong card. Even with a conviction for a less serious offence, the Traffic Commissioner may call you to appear before him or her.

It is important that both at court and before the Commissioner, you effectively put forward your case.
