Taxi licensing

For both taxi operators and drivers, the licence issued by their local licensing authority is important to them and needs to be protected.  The local licensing authority will only issue licences to those whom they consider to be “fit and proper”, yet there is no statutory definition of what this means.  Licences can be revoked or suspended for “any other reasonable cause”.  Both these terms can be interpreted very widely and so if you are attending before a local licensing committee, you need to be well prepared.

If you are facing disciplinary action or your application to grant a licence is due to be heard before the licensing committee, as a transport lawyer,  I can provide you with taxi licensing advice and representation to ensure that you get the best possible outcome.
